After 1st January 2021, any orders placed through the Orient website for delivery outside of the UK or Northern Ireland, will be treated as an import and may incur customs charges before the item is released for final delivery.

There is still a level of uncertainty in how the new Trade Agreement between the UK and the EU will work. Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide exact information as there are differing levels of import tariffs and these charges are not yet available to us.

Shipping to the EU - VAT and Import charges

Sadly, it is not sustainable for us as a business to refund import duty to our customers outside of the UK. The only way we can continue to ship to the EU is if the customer is fully responsible for any and all customs fees and VAT charges. 

These charges will need to be paid to the customs department before they release your order for delivery.

How much will the fees on my order be?

Unfortunately at this moment in time we cannot accurately quote you, but as a general guide we have seen these costs are typically 25-30% on the value of your purchase. 

You can use this Import Duty Calculator to try and get an idea of cost but please note this is only an estimate and final costs may vary. 

Customs Documentation

All our shipments will be labelled as items sold for retail, and the value of these items will be accurately declared in the customs documentation. We will never label an item as a gift or under-declare the value. 

Rejected orders 

When you place your order you are accepting the above terms for shipping outside the UK, and also to Northern Ireland. If you decide to reject an order that has been shipped under the terms above because of the import fees, we will happily refund your order when the items are returned minus any shipping or return fee as we do not get this back.
